Mode of action:
It
is well accepted that the inclusion of certain enzymes in animal feeds improves
the digestibility of non-starch polysaccharides (NSP) such as beta-glucans and
xylans. Plants store phosphorus in the form of phytate, which in itself is unavailable,
but also complexes other nutrients. Phytase will break this down, releasing
phosphorus as well as starch, protein, amino acids ect.
